So far (in very hot Arkansas) has done a credible job keeping the room cool. Some days it struggles to keep the temp down, though, even though the room is considerably smaller than the AC's claimed room size. (I intentionally got a unit one size bigger than claims, still maybe not quite big enough.)Pros:- washable filtersCons:- filters need to be washed weekly- two filters instead of one- not as convenient as cheap replaceable fiber filters- the thing is surprisingly heavy- outlet hose too short (I have it stretched at its max length and it barely makes it to the window; have to disconnect to do anything with the unit; will probably put the unit on a short table or stool in the near future)- have to do some creative patchwork to get the outlet to seal through an awning window

This ac makes my room freezing cold and I love it! It is the first ac I have gotten that hasn't let me down entirely, the other 2 I bought from TCL and serene life either don't work very well or they stopped working in under 7 months. So I decided to go with Frigidaire because the other ac's that I have of theirs are still running today.

I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I am very happy with the unit that works very well to cool off my apartment. The controls are very easy to use. The remote control looks like something from 1984 and is not intuitive. I don't rely on it as my interface and would have trouble if I did.

This product simply does not work. We have a 5,000BTU window unit that cools MUCH better on setting 3! This one is on high and blows cold air for literally TWO MINUTES before it either reboots or the compressor shuts off. It has plenty of clearance, is vented, the filter is pristine, and while set on 72 degrees, it can only get down to 79! Don™€™t get a portable, because first of all, they really are NOT portable (you have to put several screw holes in the window casing to hold the rickety thin plastic adapter). Plus, if you dehumidify, you myst be able to drain the water off (mUST use a garden hose but it can™€™t be longer than a foot!!).

So Far Great, But.....

After only a week, the Clean Filter light came on. The booklet said they should be cleaned weekly while other brands I've had in the past said monthly or as needed. Anyway, I took them out & they were not dirty so put them back in w/light still on. I will keep an eye on them. Just hope it lives up to the reputation of the brand name. In terms of effectiveness, it keeps a large room comfortable & is more quiet than other brands I've had in the past. Quite pleased.

This is a follow up....the box the air conditioner came in even states it should cool 450 sq ft (see pictures). Why does the Frigidaire website say 250 sq ft. My room is 375 sq ft. The air is not even that cool! Why does it not cool off my room?

Recently installed this unit. Works as advertised. Do wish it had a default switch to stop it from turning off completely when the registered temperature is reached. If it would keep the fan running, instead of stopping, so that the background noise remained steady, that would be excellent. This unit is in the bedroom and the start - stop sequence causes some sleep disturbance

My new portable a/c is working very well, keeping my 2nd floor room very cool. The only thing I do not like is the draining of the water. My previous a/c was a GE that had a bottom side container that I could just slide out and dump water. Very easy, no mess. My new a/c draining is not so easy and you will get some water leaks before getting hose on upper drain. Bottom drain is very low to ground, hard to drain with out water leaking. Would like to see Frigidaire unit come with floor pan.

This is my second portable air conditioner but my first from frigidaire. It's quieter than my previous AC, easy to use, and cools my room well. This size has a higher BTU than is recommended for my square-footage, but this allows me to run it at a lower to medium speed, rather than have it on high all the time. I recommend anyone purchase more BTUs than suggested.

Have had it for a little over a month and aside from being a bit difficult to install, it has worked very well. I am NOT good at anything that requires knowledge in this regard so I had a air conditioning specialist come and install. It would be good to note that the window exhaust guide could require some minor modification to fit your exhaust window. I must say that after installation it has worked very well to date.

My Frigidaire portable a/c is working fine. I've had it about 4 weeks. It's cooling down, so I use the more now. Haven't had to clean the filter or deal with water pans. So far I'm happy with it. My handyman took about 2.5 hours to install the window kit.

Ordered this magical piece of machinery just in time. The heat wave was no match for this 10,000 BTU cold air pusher. Cools down any medium sized room (enclosed) within 10 minutes. The little noise that it produces is nothing more than white noise complimenting a comfortable tempered room. Would definitely buy again in a heartbeat, given the opportunity. Great job frigidaire!

Unit purchased during (another) hot Seattle Summer. In two days it reduced the temperature in my apartment from 78-79 to 75-76. That doesn't seem like a lot but I work from home and was able to sleep much better. Runs a little loud but worth it.

Not great, this thing. Wouldn't say it's a complete miss but the room isn't that cool and I have to run it non-stop. Which is a problem at night (when I need it most) because it's also pretty noisy. Would not recommend.

We bought this unit for our 235 sq. ft bedroom. Purposely got this one because it is supposed to handle much bigger room. It works great! It cools the room fairly quick and keeps it as cool as we want all night. It is fairly quiet.... the noise it makes doesn't disturb our sleep. We have 70 inch high horizontal sliding windows. The window adapter that comes with the unit is not long enough. I could not find any window adapters long enough online, so I made my own.

Perfect for our unusually hot weather!

As we broke records for most days over 90 degrees this summer, I ordered my portable air conditioner. It seems that these hot summer days are the new normal. I've only used the appliance for cooling--and it does an amazing job. I have tall cathedral ceilings in my living room, kitchen and formal dining room. This portable AC has been able to keep this space sufficiently cool, as well as the rooms down the hall! It has made a huge difference in comfort. While you can hear it, I don't find the sound bothersome. It was also easy to set up and operate. While it isn't all that big, it does require open space around it, and it also requires a fairly close wall electrical outlet as well as a fairly close window to outside. It is a little heavy, but I've found that I can still lift it. However, it may be too heavy for 1 person to carry down a flight of stairs. This has been my best purchase of the summer. It has worked perfectly! I highly recommend this product.
